Halloween is coming up! It can be hard to figure out what the best activities and spots for trick-or-treating are for the kids. So we have compiled a little list of Spooktacular Halloween Events 2017 taking place in the Greater Vancouver Area during Halloween week. Take a peek, if you dare…

Mall Trick-or-Treating

There are several malls throughout the Lower Mainland that provide some sort of trick-or-treating Halloween Events 2017. Well-lit, dry, and hassle free, you can take your child around the shops at the mall to collect their treats!

City Square Shopping Centre (Vancouver) – City Square’s Halloween Hunt takes place on October 28th, from 12:00pm – 3:00pm. Enjoy Trick-or-Treating, cookie decorating, face painting, a Magic Show and Enter for a chance to win the Grand Prize a Nintendo Switch with Legends of Zelda game. There will be tons of activities free for kids up to 14 years of age. Check out more info on the website.

Willowbrook Mall (Langley) – Willowbrook’s annual Trick-or-Treat event takes place on October 31st from 5:00pm to 6:00pm. Entry is by donation and includes a trick-or-treat bag and goodies. Suggested donation is $2. For more information check out the website here.

Lougheed Town Centre (Burnaby) – The Trick or Treat event at Lougheed Town Centre takes place on October 31st from 4:00pm to 5:00pm. There will be free treats for children under 12, a free Halloween photo booth, and a live DJ. See the event website here.

Central City Mall (Surrey) – Come to Central City on October 31st between 4:00pm and 6:00pm for the Halloween fun event. Kids up to age 12 can trick-or-treat at participating stores, and there will be additional fun activities happening as well. Check out the event here.

Wesbrook Village (Vancouver) – Come to the Wesbrook Welcome Centre on October 31st between 4:00pm and 6:00pm for an evening of trick-or-treating! There will also be a haunted house as well as crafts and games. Wesbrook village also has some other Halloween themed stuff happening in the weeks before, so don’t forget to check out their website!

Other Fun Halloween Events

There is a lot to do besides trick-or-treating in and around Vancouver. Check out these events that are fun for the whole family!

Lansdowne Centre (Richmond) – This isn’t a trick or treating event, but until October 31st you can come to Lansdowne Centre to ride the Halloween Train and take a spin on the Scarousel! $3.50 per ride or $20 for 8 tickets. More info here.

High Street (Abbotsford) – The Land of Boo! Between October 21st and 31st enjoy a fun scavenger hunt around High Street in Abbotsford. Spot 5 black cats and you could win an iPad! For more information, check out the website here.

Art Knapp (Port Coquitlam) – Funland. Until October 31st enjoy rides, food, and fun at Funland!

Pinetree Community Centre (Coquitlam) – On October 29th, the Pinetree Community Centre is hosting a Family Haunted Halloween! From crafts, to face-painting, to a bouncy castle, this event will be fun for all ages. There will also be a parade, so be sure to dress up in costume! Fort Langley Cranberry Festival

For those of us who are less spookily inclined and prefer more wholesome events, on October 7th the Fort Langley National Historic Site is offering free admission to the Cranberry Festival. There will be lots of fun games for the whole family as well as a market in the village. Check it out!

Bear Creek Park Pumpkin Express

From October 7th until October 31st, take your little ones on a train-ride at Bear Creek Park. Each child will receive a treat and a small pumpkin to remember the day by! For opening times and more information on pricing, check out the website.

Granville Island Turkey Trot

On Thanksgiving day, October 9th, join in the fun and go for a run! Starting and ending on Granville Island, the Turkey Trot is a fun 10km run for people of all ages. Feel free to run, walk, or stroll to the finish line! All finishers get a medal and free refreshments. There is also a kids’ run (1.1 km) on October 8th. Apple Festival 2017

On October 14th and 15th, enjoy an event dedicated to one of our favourite fruits! This event, put on by the UBC Botanical Gardens, will feature many fun activities including a scarecrow contest, demonstrations of grafting and cider-pressing, a children’s area, as well as a market with tons of crafts and of course, apples and trees! This month is back to school season. But don’t worry, there are still plenty of fun things to do in and around Vancouver during the month of September 2017. Check out our list!

Guns n’ Roses Concert at BC Place

Kick off September 2017 by celebrating that we won’t have to endure the November Rain quite yet – at the Guns n’ Roses concert. The concert will be taking place on Friday, September 1 at BC Place. Royal Blood will be opening for the show. Get your tickets while you still can.

Nikkei Matsuri

On September 2 and 3, come out and enjoy a celebration of Japanese culture at Nikkei Matsuri. Activities will start at 11:00 am and run until 7:00 pm both days. There will be food, games and traditional performances to enjoy. Entry to the garden is free, but you will need to pay a $3 admission fee if you want to take part in any of the indoor activities. Bands on the Beach 2017

Head out to Harrison Hot Springs between 1-6 pm on September 2 and 3 for an afternoon full of music at Bands on the Beach 2017. View more information about the event.
