Happy New Year! It’s a brand new year and that means it’s time for a brand new list of things to do in and around Vancouver in the month of January 2018! Here is our list of 10 awesome things to do this month.

Polar Bear Swims

Start the year off with an icy dive on the first day of January 2018. There are a few different options for where to go, but the most popular is the Vancouver Polar Bear Swim in English Bay which will take place between 2:30 – 3:30 pm. Check out more info about this event on the City of Vancouver website.

Ice Skating at Robson Square

Even though the ice rink has been open since the start of December, the fun continues all the way through January and February, too! Enjoy some good old-fashioned ice skating at Robson Square. Check out opening times and other information on the website.

Jazz Vespers

Come to St. Andrew’s-Wesley United Church on Sundays between 4:00 – 5:00 pm in January for excellent jazz performances. Entrance is by donation. Check out the dates and artists on their website.

Nat Bailey Winter Farmers’ Market

Check out one of Vancouver’s largest farmers’ markets this January 2018at the Nat Bailey Stadium. Open Saturdays from 10:00 am – 2:00 pm, this amazing farmers’ market is home to over 70 vendors! Check out more details and directions.

PuSh Festival

Check out this amazing festival of performing arts from January 15th to February 4th. Several fantastic performances in dance, theatre, and more are scheduled this year. Find more information about showtimes and tickets on the PuSh festival website.

Vancouver International Boat Show

Between January 17th and 21st, head to BC Place and Granville Island for the Vancouver International Boat Show. Five days of exciting workshops, seminars, and more! Check out information about exhibitors and buy tickets, here.

Dine Out Vancouver

Between January 19th and February 4th, enjoy fantastic deals at hundreds of restaurants throughout Vancouver. Besides excellent multi-course dinners at varying price-points, there are also several other food-related events. Participating restaurants and more information will be revealed on January 19, 2018. Hot Chocolate Festival

Between January 20th and February 14th, cozy up with some hot cocoa at Vancouver’s 8th annual hot chocolate festival. Several local coffee shops and chocolatiers participate each year. New information will be coming to the website soon.

Shred for a Cause

What are you doing Monday nights from 6:00 – 10:00 pm? Starting on Monday, January 22, ladies can ski or snowboard on Mount Seymour for a minimum donation of $15 – in support of The Bloom Group. Men are welcome, too! Tickets for men will start at $33. Visit the Mount Seymour website for more information.

Chilly Chase

Taking place on January 28th, the Chilly Chase Race is back for its 13th year! Sign up to run either 5 km, 10 km, 15 km or half-marathon along the Sea Wall.
