The holiday season is here! With Santa Claus coming to town in just a few short weeks, this month our 10 things to do in Vancouver list is all about the holidays! Check out these great events taking place in and around Vancouver for the whole family during the month of December 2017!

Vancouver Christmas Market

Come experience a German-style Christmas market. The market features more than 75 huts of authentic, German sweets, treats, and treasures. It will be open from November 22 – December 24 at Jack Poole Plaza. Buy tickets, here.

Christmas at Canada Place

Christmas at Canada Place is celebrating its 30th anniversary. This attraction will run for 5 weeks from November 23 until December 31. Come experience the nostalgic tradition of the Woodward’s Windows, a magical holiday lighting display, the Sails of Light, and more! Learn more, here.

Christmas FlyOver Canada

FlyOver Canada utilizes state-of-the-art technology to give you the feeling of flight. For Christmas, you will help Santa on an important quest. This holiday attraction will be open November 23 to January 7, 2018. Watch the promotional video, here.

Holiday Traditions at the Vancouver Aquarium

Come experience the holiday waves at the Vancouver Aquarium. These attractions will be open November 24 until January 7. From magical aquatic displays to Scuba Claus, your family will be sure to create unforgettable memories. Visit the Vancouver Aquarium website for more information.

Heritage Christmas | Burnaby Village Museum

Stroll through the village to see holiday wreaths, cedar swags, and vintage-themed Christmas displays. Heritage Christmas will be open from November 25 to January 5. Admission is free for the family; carousel rides are $2.65 each. Visit their website for more information.

Vancouver Christmas Tree Lighting

The Vancouver Christmas Tree Lighting is back for its 11th year. Head down to the Vancouver Art Gallery Plaza on Friday, December 1 to watch four magnificent holiday trees come alive. This free family-friendly event features live entertainment, free cookies and hot chocolate, local food trucks, and fun craft activities for kids!

Ugly Christmas Sweater Dash

The Ugly Sweater Dash is a community event taking place in Port Moody on December 2. This dash features an untimed 5km run, holiday music, craft beers, and family entertainment. The event raises money for the Make-A-Wish Foundation of BC & The Yukon. Click here to register.

Cineplex Family Favourites

Take advantage of this great deal at several Cineplex locations. Watch your Family Holiday Favourites on the big screen Saturday mornings at 11:00 am throughout December 2017. Tickets are only $2.99. Check out the website for more information.

Vancouver Santa Claus Parade

The Vancouver Santa Claus Parade will be taking place on Sunday, December 3. It is a great Christmas event for the whole family to enjoy, with floats, marching bands, and Santa! The parade will go along Georgia Street, down Howe Street, until Davie Street.

CP Holiday Train

The CP Holiday Train will be making its way across Canada for its 19th year, this year. The holiday train features impressive light displays and a free concert for the whole family to enjoy! Remember to bring a food donation for the local food bank. The train will be arriving in Maple Ridge, Pitt Meadows, Port Moody, and Port Coquitlam on December 16 and 17.
